Not so H P together?
HP have confirmed today that they plan to split the organization into two separate companies.
A consumer focused business called ‘HP’ will continue to sell PCs and Printers and the remaining software and services business will change it’s name to ‘HP Enterprise’.
The company claims the split will allow the individual companies to focus better on their markets while adding shareholder value.
Wall street seemed happy about the news as shares jumped 4% following the announcement.
Unfortunately for staff this probably means even further layoffs. Since 2012 the number of planed layoffs has increased dramatically from 27,000 to the now, lofty, figure of 55,000. HP currently employs around 330,000 people worldwide.
