Azure Active Directory Sync – Force a Sync (updated)

Hi All

As you probably know the DiySync tool has changed quite a lot during it’s lifetime.
So have the methods required to force a manual sync.

If you are running the latest version of the Windows Azure Active Directory Sync tool, you no longer need to run any scripts to force a sync to take place.

If you have been Googling how to do this you will find a lot of posts advising you to run a powershell script called  DirSyncConfigShell.psc1
However you have probably noticed that DirSyncConfigShell.psc1 script is missing?

This is because it’s longer needed.

To force a sync

Open Powershell (as admin)

Type Import-Module DirSync

Then Type  Start-OnlineCoExistenceSync

Check your even logs for progress.

Good Luck
